Job Description
We are seeking for two Business Development Managers – BDM in Chicago (1), & Atlanta (1), to add to our sales and marketing team. Experienced in selling software/services, proven expertise in working with clients. The candidates in Chicago are expected to be on-site, working from our Head office in Buffalo Grove. And, the candidate in Atlanta will be working remotely but must be local to Atlanta.
Responsibilities:
- Primary responsibility is the closing sales from both new and existing accounts.
- Make contact with client contacts on a daily basis with the goal of engaging in new project work from client companies.
- Set up capabilities, presentations with client’s senior management, engineering, and marketing contacts.
- Uncover leads for new projects and support work.
- Lead the development of new accounts as well as the growth of existing accounts.
- When proposals are requested for new projects, serve as the primary client contact during the development of the initial work estimate, the formal proposal, related negotiations, and initial project work planning (scheduling, etc.)
- Drafting of the initial work estimate (budget) and proposal for review and collaboration with company managers.
- Final proofing and submission of paperwork including contracts to clients with assistance from managers within the company and ensuring that proper paperwork is in place before a project starts.
- Business development manager will be responsible for the issuance of change orders (amendments), timely payment of open invoices, and the expediting of late payments.
- Act as an account manager on existing accounts.
- Support and participate in ongoing marketing, sales, and annual planning activities.
- Check in with clients as project work progresses and/or sit in on occasional project meetings to ensure that client needs are being met or exceeded.
- Travel as required to meet with clients at their off-site locations, though a high percentage of the time will be spent in-house on the phone or working on new sales initiatives (planning, phone calls, etc).
- Support company marketing efforts, as needed.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of sales experience, in software and consulting field.
- Applicants should also have excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and time-management skills.
- Knowledge of the new product development process for mechanical and electro-mechanical devices and systems would be preferred.
- Computer proficiency including the Microsoft Office suite.
