Overview
We are seeking a dedicated QA/Test Engineer with 2 to 4 years of experience to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our Maximo applications through meticulous manual and automated testing. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with strong documentation skills and a solid understanding of testing methodologies and tools.
Responsibilities
Test Planning and Ticket Creation
- Create detailed tickets and tasks for applications that need testing, including comprehensive descriptions and requirements.
Documentation & Backup Maintenance
- Perform thorough manual testing of application functionalities and fields.
- Document all testing activities with precise and clear documentation.
- Update manual testing documents with all test case steps, including test script names, paths, and statuses.
- Keep regular backups of all testing documents and related materials.
- Organize and maintain proper folders for all testing documents and scripts.
- Create and maintain documentation for any installations related to testing environments or tools.
Automation Test Script Development
- Develop automation test scripts based on manual test cases using valid demo data.
- Ensure scripts are efficient, maintainable, and reusable.
Repository Management
- Regularly upload automation test scripts to the repository (REPO).
- Maintain version control and ensure scripts are properly stored and accessible.
Bug Reporting and Collaboration
- Immediately communicate with administrators and developers regarding any bugs or defects found.
- Provide detailed defect documentation with proper screenshots and replication steps.
Technical Requirements
Testing Expertise:
- Strong knowledge of various testing types and methodologies at different phases of the software development lifecycle.
XML and Data Input Understanding
- Basic understanding of XML and how application fields respond to different data inputs.
Maximo Application Knowledge
- Familiarity with Maximo applications, including various fields and data handling within the system is added advantage.
Test Case Documentation Skills
- Ability to create comprehensive test cases with correct steps and expected outcomes.
Automation Tools Proficiency:
- Experience with Selenium WebDriver using Java.
- Proficiency with Eclipse IDE and TestNG framework for automation testing.
Agile Methodology Familiarity:
- Good understanding of Agile methodologies and ability to work within Agile teams.
Software Lifecycle Models:
- Basic knowledge of different software lifecycle models and their applications.
Qualifications
- 2-4 years of experience in software testing and quality assurance.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying issues.
