Sr Network Engineer

Job Summary

The Infrastructure and Networking Engineer will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing the company’s internal IT infrastructure. This role includes managing and supporting Windows laptops, networks, VPNs, Microsoft Office administration, and other standard IT responsibilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in network management, system administration, and troubleshooting, ensuring a secure, efficient, and reliable IT environment.

Job Requirements

Network Management:

  • Design, implement, and manage the company’s internal network infrastructure, including LAN/WAN, routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Monitor network performance, ensuring optimal operation and minimal downtime.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network issues promptly, including connectivity problems and security breaches.
  • Manage VPN services, ensuring secure remote access for employees

System Administration:

  • Administer and maintain Windows laptops, including setup, configuration, and regular updates.
  • Manage user accounts and permissions within Microsoft Office 365 and other enterprise applications.
  • Ensure compliance with security policies by implementing necessary patches, updates, and configurations.
  • Provide support for end-user IT issues, resolving hardware and software problems in a timely manner.

Infrastructure Support:

  • Maintain IT infrastructure documentation, including network diagrams, configuration files, and support processes.
  • Collaborate with the IT team to develop and implement disaster recovery plans.
  • Assist in the deployment of new IT infrastructure projects, including hardware upgrades and software rollouts.

Security and Compliance:

  • Implement and maintain security measures to protect the company’s IT infrastructure, including anti-virus, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems.
  • Basic understanding of firewall and network security while creating the rules with exposure to tools like Sophos, Fortinet, Microsoft Sentinel, etc.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company policies, including data protection and privacy standards.

IT Operations Support:

  • Provide technical support to employees for IT-related issues, offering guidance and training as needed.
  • Manage IT inventory, including hardware, software licenses, and other IT assets.
  • Participate in the development of IT policies and procedures, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in IT infrastructure and network management.
  • Proficiency in managing Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office 365, and network administration.
  • Advanced understanding of firewall /security/Network infrastructure
  • Strong knowledge of VPN technologies and remote access solutions.
  • Experience with network security tools and best practices.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
  • Relevant certifications such as CCNA, MCSE, or CompTIA Network+ are preferred.
